5D/7D's zoom-in doesn't work in video playback mode, thus videographers cannot check the details of video picture. It is Pixel-to-Pixel function which can restore the picture to 1920x1080 pixel, and showing with different parts at 800x480 pixel LCD screen. It helps to watch picture details and assists focus,which makes HD Focus easier.
